Wie überlebt man als Künstler*in in einer Welt, die von Klimakrisen, politischen Instabilitäten und einer rücksichtslosen, von Geld und Trends getriebenen Musikindustrie heimgesucht wird? Während einige aufgeben, gelingt es anderen, innere Quellen der Widerstandsfähigkeit anzuzapfen, oft unterstützt von einer Community. Auf diesem Panel wird die in Nairobi lebende Filmemacherin Emma Nzioka mit der queeren kenianisch-tansanischen Künstler*in Janice Iche und der Musik-Kuratorin Audrey Powell über den künstlerischen und ökonomischen Struggle in krisengeschüttelten Zeiten diskutieren.

How to survive as an artist in times of a world struck by the climate crisis, political instabilities, and a ruthless music industry driven by money and social trends? While some simply give up, others manage to tap into inner sources of strength and resilience, often supported by a community. In this panel, the Nairobi-based filmmaker Emma Nzioka will discuss the artistic and economic struggles in times of crisis with queer Kenyan-Tanzanian artist Janice Iche and music curator Audrey Powell.
