Isn’t It a Beautiful World erzählt die traumatischen Geschichten der queeren Performer*innen Soroya, Harry und Kenya mit einer starken Bildsprache. In seinem experimentellen Kurzfilm lässt Regisseur Joseph Wilsons seine Darsteller*innen zu Delia Derbyshires «Falling, from the Dreams» und schrägen elektronischen Sounds Lippen-Synchronisationen machen. Die bedrückenden Gefühle von Einsamkeit und Isolation stehen für die erlebten Diskriminierungen, die sich auf die psychische Gesundheit von Menschen innerhalb der LGBTQ+-Community auswirken.
Isn’t It a Beautiful World tells the traumatizing stories of queer performers Soroya, Harry, and Kenya with extraordinarily strong visual language. In this experimental short film, director Joseph Wilson lets his performers lip sync to Delia Derbyshire’s «Falling, from the Dreams» backed by weird electronic sounds, evoking a lurking feeling of loneliness and isolation and the relation to mental health within the LGBTQ+ community.
